The IT department provides support to a user base of approximately 500 permanent employees.  To ensure the provision of effective support and helpdesk cover in the use of the RFU Desktop IT systems, we are seeking a 1st line support analyst.

Key responsibilities will include:
-Taking ownership of problems encountered by users at a desktop level, ensuring timely resolutions and working to a strict business SLA.
-Maintaining the RFU helpdesk system, including accepting and responding to calls when the Helpdesk Assistant is unavailable
-Preparation and delivery of IT equipment
-Installation of software and hardware locally or remotely
-Supporting document and installation procedures

It is essential for candidates to have credible experience of supporting the infrastructure implemented within the RFU including, but not limited to the following: Windows 2000/2003 in an active directory environment, Microsoft office software from XP onwards, Windows XP desktop operating system, Ethernet/TCPIP and RDP protocols, PC desktop imaging software, mobile device installation and configuration.

Candidates must also be “customer service” driven, demonstrate a thorough, timely approach to work and have the stamina and perseverance to cope with heavy workloads and sometimes complex issues.  High professional standards, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work successfully both alone and in a small team are all requirements for the post.
