To build on the popularity of Rugby Union throughout the country, we are developing our network of field based Volunteer Executives. Their key responsibility is to support the recruitment, development, retention and recognition of volunteers in clubs and constituent bodies. Working from a local office, the main focus will be on developing young rugby volunteers as part of a new project, vRugby, supported by v, an independent charity set up to inspire a million new young volunteers aged 16-25.
With the support of a the CB Volunteer Manager and Regional Managers, our Volunteer Executives are responsible for implementing the RFU Volunteer Strategy across the Community game. You will assist constituent bodies with the production of volunteer development action plans; apply for and support applications for funding and act as national lead on volunteer investment programmes.
The successful applicant will have experience and understanding of sports / club development via a Local Authority, Sport England, National Governing Body or other equivalent agency. You must have a “can do” proactive attitude, be able to provide solutions to problems and be an effective communicator and motivator.
