JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:       

Club and Coach Officers

1 x full time and 1 x part time  / 21 hours

Location: 

South West

Contract Period: 2 year contract

Salary: £20,000 -£24,000 pro rata + Car (full time only) and benefits

Responsible to

Player Development Manager

Job Purpose

To deliver the RFUW coaching and playing philosophy to players and coaches to improve the quality of the game thereby increasing participation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities     

KPI 1 Achieve the agreed player development targets

Manage the delivery of the player development programme on a regional basis.

Deliver and monitor Schools of Rugby for U15’s, Talent Development Group (TDG) for U18’s along with Senior Elite Training Centres (ETC) and High Performance Academies (HPA). The CCO will also implement the RFUW talent identification systems by working with county and regional coaches and squads.

KPI 2 Achieve the agreed coach development outcomes

Contribute to the establishment of a competency-driven coach development programme based upon a Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model syllabus.

Deliver individualised coach development programmes for identified coaches at all levels within the region.  This will include:

-RFU coaching qualifications

-Continual Professional Development (CPD) action planning and   programmes

-Opportunities to attend higher level training sessions

-Appropriate levels of coach mentoring

-Education on LTAD and RFUW specific programmes.

KPI 3 Achieve the club development outcomes

Support club development outcomes by delivering a best practice programme of club development based on quality coaching and playing structures.

KPI 4 Reporting and analysis is delivered to RFUW standards

Maintain appropriate records and monitoring information on all programmes to ensure achievement of KPIs and to evaluate the effectiveness of the club development and coaching programmes.

Provide reports and information for the Player Development Manager.

Liaise with Women’s Rugby Development Managers (WRDM’s) and RFUW Volunteers, RFUW Performance coaches, RFU Coach Development Officer, regional and club coaches to ensure effective communication and to assist with implementing the RFUW coaching and playing philosophy

KPI 5 Highest level of working practice is maintained at all times

Work at all times within the requirements of Health and Safety legislation.

Carry out all responsibilities with due regard to the RFUW's Equity Policy.

Carry out any other duties as specified by the Managing Director.
