Community Rugby Coach (Burnley & Pendle) vacancy at the RFU

One full time post / 35 hours per week  Salary: c. £16,500 to £18,000
36 month contract (subject to funding & performance)

The Rugby Football Union, in conjunction with Burnley RUFC, Burnley SSP, Colne & Nelson RUFC, Pendle SSP and Lancashire Youth Trust, is looking to appoint a Community Rugby Coach to provide coaching to support the strategic needs of Rugby Union in Burnley & Pendle. 

Responsibilities:

-To deliver coaching and competitive opportunities to young people and adults in local schools, clubs and other community settings within the Burnley & Pendle area, as directed by the Rugby Development Officer (RDO).
-To deliver the School Coaching Programme targets in Burnley & Pendle by providing at least 200 hours per year of coaching outside of the school curriculum in both partnerships.
-To introduce leadership skills to young people.
-To provide ongoing support and sustainability by delivering teacher and coach education.
-To take a professional approach in the planning, preparation and organisation of coaching sessions.
-To maintain a comprehensive schedule of coaching as established and administered by the RDO.

Qualifications:

-Must be educated to a minimum of 'GCSE' standard preferably with at least five GCSEs at grade C or above. 
-Will have experience of coaching children and young people.
-Preferred candidates should also hold an RFU coaching qualification (Level 2), a National Foundation Referees Certificate Part 1 / Entry Level Referee Award Phase 1, a recognised First Aid qualification and a current, preferably clean driving licence.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Ideally candidate should have experience of playing rugby and already have a good knowledge and understanding of the game and the operation of rugby. They should be keen to develop a career in the sports/leisure industry and to develop their personal skills.
