Forwards Coach, England Counties XV
The England Counties XV is looking to appoint a Forwards Coach. This is an honorary appointment.
Key Responsibilities
Working with the backs coach, the forwards coach will be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of a successful England Counties XV coaching and playing programme.
The successful applicant will be responsible, by example, for setting the highest standards for the squad and its support staff. He/she will have the skills and knowledge to help players to reach their full potential while they are a member of the England Counties XV squad.
The coaches will work with the Team Manager and Chairman of Selectors to establish selection criteria and player characteristics for all playing positions.
Time commitment
The post holder should be willing and able to commit to the following:
1) Team Management/Selection meetings
2) Squad Training sessions when applicable
3) Spring Internationals (x2 long weekends)
4) 2 week summer tour
Further responsibilities
· In consultation with the Team Manager, players and other support staff, establish ‘Team Standards/Conduct’.
· Ensure all training sessions are well-planned and effective with players individual needs met.
· Encourage a positive team ethic through personal discipline, hard work, pride and selflessness.
· Communicate clearly with players, management and media both on and off the pitch.
· Ensure ALL players receive clear, honest feedback and appraisal of their performance throughout the selection process and the time the team is together.
· Complete a full written report after each match / tour that includes copies of the selection criteria, game plan, strategies and player appraisals.
The successful applicant will receive appropriate travel expenses.
The position is for three years, reviewed annually
