Terrace Talk - National One

Check out our weekly previews and predictions

Henley Hawks v Exeter Chiefs

Huge game for these two sides as they look to climb the table and get away from the relegation zone.

Exeter have now suffered back to back defeats and find themselves in 9th place in the table but it is tight with two points separating five sides between 13th and 9th place in the table.

Henley have the worst current losing streak in the division and are looking to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat. At home they have managed just one win all season suffering four defeats but two of these have been by less than seven points.

Team news:

Prediction:  Exeter to leave with the points in narrow win.

London Welsh v Otley

After back to back defeats Otley will be keen to get their season back on track with a win at Old Deer Park against an inconsistent London Welsh side. They have already won three times on the road this season and were disappointed to lose at Bedford last Saturday.

The Welsh have had an up and down season with some excellent wins but then some strange losses but in their last six matches they have managed just two wins and really need a win here as they are only four points of a relegation place.

Team news:

Prediction: Otley to get back to winning ways.

Manchester v Coventry

Huge game for both sides this one with Manchester seeing this as a chance to get back in touch with the pack above them which, is very tightly bunched with six sides separated by just four points.

Coventry have put together back to back wins and are hoping the addition of a couple of Canadian Internationals will help turn their season round.

They will though need to break their record this season of not winning on the road whilst Manchester have improved recently with a home win against Penzance having pushed Exeter all the way a couple of weeks earlier.

Team news:

Prediction:  Back to back wins for Coventry.

Orrell v Bedford Blues

Orrell will be looking to keep the pressure on leaders Worcester with a big win to secure all five points on offer and maintain their 100% home record this season.

Orrell are unbeaten since they lost to Worcester in week two of the season and are looking for a ninth straight win.

Bedford Blues have relied on their home form to help them to sixth place in the division as on the road they have managed just the one success from four matches, that being at Plymouth Albion.

.

Team news:

Prediction: Comfortable home win for Orrell.

Plymouth Albion v Bristol Shoguns

Fifth placed Plymouth Albion entertain 10th placed Bristol Shoguns in their first ever league meeting.

In the form guide Plymouth Albion are in third place with five wins in their last six matches whilst Bristol have won two of their last six to be in 8th lace in the form guide although they have won two of their last four matches.

Although at home that is no guide for Plymouth as there best form has been on the road with just one win out of four at Brickfields so far this season. Bristol though have not done that well away from the Memorial Ground and have picked up just one win on the road.

Team news:

Prediction: Albion to take the honours with 10 point win.

Wakefield v Pertemps Bees

Wakefield are going through a bad run after a great start to the season and will go into this match at College Grove looking to avoid a fifth straight defeat with the visit of third placed Pertemps Bees.

The Bees returned to winning ways last week after a two match losing sequence but re still eight points clear of the fourth placed side Otley.

Wakefield have dropped to seventh place but with it all very close below them they could do with a home win to get ahead of the pack behind them and restore some lost confidence.

Team news:

Prediction:  Wakefield’s bad run to continue. Win the Bees winning by 10.

Worcester v Penzance & Newlyn

Everything points to a huge Worcester win in this one with the Warriors in excellent form and unbeaten in 10 league matches this season, although they were given a scare at Bristol last Sunday as they failed to secure a bonus point for only the second time this season.

The Pirates have had a terrible time away from home this season losing all five matches and conceding over 30 points in them all with only their home form keeping them clear of bottom placed Manchester.

Team news:

Prediction:  Worcester to won comfortably by 25 points.
