Terrace Talk - National Three North

Check out our weekly previews and predictions.

Darlington v Halifax

Could be an interesting game with leaders Halifax travelling to Darlington who have the third best home record in the division with nine wins form their 12 matches to date. So Halifax will need to be at their best and not take this game lightly otherwise they could come unstuck.

Halifax though will be buoyed though by their win against Waterloo and be determined not to slip up after that win.

Team news:

Prediction: Halifax to win by 10 points.

Dudley Kingswinford v New Brighton

DK will be keen for a win which could well take them into the top ten whilst a win for New Brighton could see them move up to third from fifth depending on other results.

New Brighton are going for a fourth consecutive win whilst DK are looking for back to back wins.

At home this season DK have managed seven wins from their 12 matches whilst on the road New Brighton have five wins and a draw from their 12 matches to date.

Team news:

Prediction: Away win by less than 10 points.

Kendal v Darlington Mowden Park

Darlington Mowden Park will be looking for a win to consolidate third place in National Three North as they look for their highest ever finish at this level improving on the fifth place form last season.

Kendal are in sixth and can finish no higher although they could drop a couple of places if beaten at Mint Bridge on Saturday.

Both sides have patch recent form with DMP recording three wins and three defeats in their last six matches and Kendal picking up two wins and a draw in their last six games. .

Kendal have eight wins and a draw from their 12 home matches this season whilst DMP have the third best away record in the division with six wins and six defeats.

Team news:

Prediction: Away win by less than seven points.

Macclesfield v Liverpool St Helens

10th placed Macclesfield will be looking to finish their first season of National League rugby with a win as they entertain already relegation Liverpool St Helens.

Having picked up just the one win in their last six matches they have slipped a little recently and a victory could see them move up a place above Darlington.

LSH have lost their last four and would like to go out with a win after a terribly disappointing season.

Macc’s home form has been the reason for their good season with seven wins and a draw from their 12 matches and 15 of their 20 points have been won at home.

LSH on the road have been poor with just a win and a draw from their 12 matches to date.

Team news:

Prediction: Home win by less than 10 points.

Preston Grasshoppers v Fylde

Already relegated Preston Grasshoppers end the season with a Lancashire derby against Fylde. Hoppers will be keen to make it back to back wins as they look forward to playing outside the national leagues for the first time ever. A win would see them make it three wins out of four to end the season playing winning rugby, as life in Powergen North One will be tough next season.

Fylde are already guaranteed sixth place in the league table and are finishing the season strongly after a poor opening.

Team news:

Prediction: Away win by 10 points.

This match is being played on Sunday with all proceeds going to the Soa Otuvaka benefit fund.

Tynedale v Blaydon

Seventh placed Tynedale entertain fourth Blaydon in a match, which will see all proceeds go to the benefit fund for Soa Otuvaka.

Blaydon will be going all out for the win as they eye up a third placed finish which would be their highest ever finish in National League rugby, having finished seventh two seasons ago. They need a few things to happen but it could all slot into place.

Blaydon are playing well at present and picked up five wins in their last six with the home loss against relegated Liverpool St Helens the only loss in that time.

Tynedale will be keen to return to winning ways after losing their last two matches and guarantee a third consecutive top half finish in National Three North.

Tynedale have done as well at home as they have in the past with six wins and six defeats from their 12 matches. Blaydon on the road have picked up five wins and a draw from their 12 matches.

Team news:

Prediction: Home win by 10 points.
