Old Laurentians 7 (Try: Middleton. Con: Brown.)
Broadstreet 11 (Try: Smart. Pens: Smart 2.)
Broadstreet finish with an away win at Old Laurentians in a low scoring match.
The home side were first on the scoreboard with a try from scrum half Dave Middleton and Matt Brown added the extras.
Before the break the visitors crossed the home line with Jonathan Smart touching down but they trailed by two points as he missed the conversion.
On the hour mark the visitors took the lead with Smart slotting over a penalty goal. He added a second penalty goal on 70 minutes and that was the end of the scoring with the visitors taking the points. .
Kettering 21 (Tries: Penalty try, Coles, Brown. Cons: Buoy 3.)
Leicester Lions 15 (Tries: Evans, Bailey, Wesley.)
Kettering took the points as they build up for the play off with North One runners up Cleckheaton. The only score of the first half was a try at the end of the half for the Lions No 8 Damian Evans that went unconverted for a 5-0 lead.
Seven minutes into the second half and Kettering was ahead when they were awarded a penalty try, which Nick Buoy converted. The lead lasted just two minutes when Lions scrum half Dan Bailey went over and again it was unconverted but they were 10-7 ahead.
The tries in ten minutes turned the game round in favour of the home side as they went into a 21-10 lead. The tries came from winger Tom Coles and second row Patrick Brown and the boot of Buoy added the conversion.
The Lions did get back to within striking distance when right wing Karl Wesley touched down but again it was unconverted.
That was the end of the scoring with Kettering taking the points.
Luton 5 (Try: Philby.)
Dunstablians 41 (Tries: Bradshaw 2, Webb, Myburgh, Butler. Cons: Alatini 5. Pen: Alatini 2.)
Comfortable win for Dunstablians away at Luton on the final day of the season running in five tries. Sam Alatini took the visitors into a 6-0 lead with two penalties in the opening 27 minutes. A Stuart Webb try gave the visitors a 13-0 half time lead after Alatini converted. By the hour mark Duns had extended their lead to 34-0 with further tries from hooker Stefan Myburgh and a brace from David Bradshaw. Centre Richard Butler got the final try before Luton scored a consolation through winger Simon Philby
Walsall 40 (Tries: Mould, Marsh, Barneix, Fowkes, Lamas, Towe. Cons: Wood 5.)
Luctonians 15 (Tries: Panniers, Garrod. Con: Wheadon. Pen: Wheadon.)
Excellent final day win for Walsall at home to Luctonians with a six try display.
Walsall wing Chris Mould was over for the opening score of the match in the 15th minute. Another try came a few minutes later when centre Richard March went over and with Matt Wood converting they were 12-0 ahead.
Centre Mark Panniers got the visitors back into the match in the 21st minute with a try that Jeremy Wheadon converted. The home side scored a third try on 25 minutes through fly half Pierre Barneix and Wood converted for 19-7, Jeremy Wheadon did pull three points back by half time
The match was won early in the second half with two more tries for the home side through second row Stephen Fowkes and scrum half Joaquin Lamas with Wood converting both for a 33-10 lead. Both sides did mange a further try but the match was over by then with Walsall taking the points.
Scunthorpe 32 (Tries: Johal, Watterson, Shepherd, Sidebottom. Cons: Robinson 3. Pens; Robinson 2.)
Bedford Athletic 27 (Tries: Rudkin 2, Tapper. Cons: Tapper 3. Pens: Tapper 2.)
Champions Bedford Athletic ended the season with a defeat at Scunthorpe who have finished the season strongly. Tim Robinson gave the home side the lead in the 5th minute but a few minutes later they were behind after flanker Scott Rudkin went over for a try, which Ashley Tapper converted.
Robinson added a second penalty goal and then the home side ran in two tries before half time to lead 20-10 as hooker Johan Jugdeep and centre Mark Watterson crossed the Bedford line and Robinson converting both with Tapper slotting over a penalty in between.
A try four minutes into the second half from fly half Ben Sherwood saw the home side move into a commanding 27-10 lead.
Bedford then staged a revival with a 17 point run in nine minutes as Rudkin got a second try and No 8 Ross Thompson touched down with Tapper converting both and kicking a penalty goal.
The game was decided in the 72nd minute with flanker Phil Sidebottom touching down for the winning score.
Spalding 27 (Tries: Smit 2, Anthony, Van den Berg. Cons: Smit 2. Pen: Smit.)
Whitchurch 19 (Tries: Appleby, T Pemberton, T Hares. Cons: Canney 2.)
Despite relegation Spalding finished the campaign with a win against Whitchurch.
Spalding went 12-0 ahead with tries from wing Willem Smit and full back Dirk Van Den Berg and Smit adding a conversion.
Whitchurch got off the mark with a try from flanker Simon Appleby that John Caney converted. Smit added a penalty goal before the home side scored a third try flanker Craig Anthony that Smit converted for a 22-7 lead.
Second row Tom Pemberton got Whitchurch closer to the home side with a try but a second from Smit took the home side 15 points clear although Whitchurch reduced that lead with a late try form flanker Tom Hares. |
