Morley finished the season with a win at home to Driffield after a tight first half which saw the home side just a point ahead at 15-14.
Driffield made a great start to the season and were 14-0 ahead after five minutes with centre Will Ollett bagging a brace of tries and Phil Jones converting both. By half time Morley were in front thanks to three unconverted tries. The first came in the 10th minute with winger Karl Bradshaw going over, this was followed on 23 minutes with centre Sion O’Hare scoring and then they went ahead on 34 minutes through flanker Craig Field.
In the second half it took the home side just a minute to go further ahead with No 8 Adam Van Leeuwen scoring, Flanker Craig Field completed a double on 63 minutes for an 11 point lead.
Driffield got a third try two minutes later but Morley finished with two more tries for a convincing win.

Comprehensive win for Cleckheaton ahead of this weeks play off against Kettering for the right to play National League rugby next season as they run in 10 tries against already relegated Huddersfield.
It took them 19 minutes to get on the scoreboard with No 8 Oliver Akroyd crossing the visitors try line. Three more tries before half time saw them open up a 26-0 lead. In the second half they ran in six more tries with Akroyd adding four more including the last three to end the match with five tries.
Aspatria 16 (Tries: M Richardson. Con: Stoddart. Pens: Stoddart 3.)
Chester 6 (Pens: King 2.)
Already relegated Aspatria finished the season with a great result in beating Chester at home. Stephen Stoddart kicked a couple of penalties in the opening 21 minutes to give them a 6-0 lead. It was 13-0 on 29 minutes with leading try scorer Mark Richardson going over for the games only try and Stoddart converted. A third Stoddart penalty saw Aspatria go 16-0 ahead. Murray King pulled three points back for Chester before the break. In the second half all Chester could offer was a second King penalty as Aspatria signed off North One rugby with a win.
Hull Ionians 35 (Tries: Burr 2, Jasnikowski, Bateson, Boyd, Eves. Con: Boyd. Pen: Boyd.)
Vale of Lune 23 (Tries: Bryan 2, Gardner. Con: Miller. Pens: Miller 2.)
Hull Ionians finished off a disappointing season with a home success over Vale of Lune. Hull went ahead on five minutes when full back Mark Jasnikowski went over for a try and a 5-0 lead. Vale though responded well and were 12-5 ahead after 11 minutes with tries form right wing James Bryan and centre Kevin Gardner with Andy Miller adding a conversion. The fast start to the match continued with No 8 Alan Bateson getting the second try and with Glen Boyd converting it was all level. Miller put Vale ahead again on 29 minutes with a penalty goal and that was how it stayed till half time.
In the second half Hull went ahead on 51 minutes when hooker David Burr went over for a try and when Derek Eves got a try on 65 minutes they were 22-15 ahead.
Bryan grabbed a second try for the visitors to get them back within a couple of points on 69 minutes but five minutes later Burr got a second for the home side for a seven point lead. This was reduced to four points when Miller slotted over a penalty goal. Boyd took the lead back to seven points with a penalty and it was game over in injury time when winger Mark Baker went over for a try.
West Park St Helens 8 (Try: Wilson. Pen: Soutar.)
Birkenhead Park 22 (Tries: C Jones 2, Planchent. Cons: Crampton 2. Pen: Crampton.)
Birkenhead Park finish the season with an excellent away win at West Park St Helens.
The home side went ahead with an Andy Soutar penalty goal on seven minutes and it stayed like that till the break. Three minutes into the second half and the visitors were level after Stuart Crampton slotted over a penalty goal. The home side went ahead again on 50 minutes with scrum half Darren Wilson scoring an unconverted try.
Birkenhead Park hooker Christian Jones they scored a couple of tries which were both converted by Crampton and they were 17-8 ahead. No 8 Chris Planchant rounded of the win with a try on 70 minutes. |
