Terrace Talk - National Three North

Check out our weekly previews and predictions.

Saturday 6th November

Blaydon v Tynedale

Ninth placed Blaydon play host to their North East rivals Tynedale on Saturday four places and seven points behind them in the league table.

Tynedale will be keen to get back to winning ways after letting a 10 point lead slip slast week at home to Rugby who scored two late tries to snatch a draw.

After winning their opening three matches Tynedale have had a loss and a draw in their last two matches and will see a win as important to get back on track.

Blaydon will be disappointed with last weeks loss at Cleckheaton as they look to try and find some consistency.

Blaydon need to find some finishing power they are the second lowest scores in the division with only bottom of the table Dudley Kingswinford scoring fewer points with both sides short of the 100 point mark.

Since these two sides started meeting in the National Leagues, Tynedale have dominated the fixture winning five of the six matches between the two sides. At Crow Trees they have won on all three visitors including a 3-15 win last season when they did the double over their North East rivals.

Prediction: Away win by seven points..

Saturday 6th November

Darlington v Cleckheaton

12th placed Darlington entertain eighth placed Cleckheaton at Blackwell Meadows looking for a win to carry them out of the bottom three. A win for Cleckheaton could see them climb as high a third in the results went in their favour.

Darlington have lost their last two matches but they were against the top two sides, Halifax and Macclesfield, and they lost both narrowly by just seven and five points respectively.

Cleckheaton returned to winning ways last weekend with a home win over Blaydon to end a three match losing run.

These two will be meeting in the National Leagues for the first time. They did though meet in North One two years ago when Cleckheaton did the double over Darlington despite the fact it was Darlington who won promotion to the National Leagues that season.

Prediction: Away win by three points.

Dudley looked adrift at the bottom but have closed the gap on the sides above them in the table with a home draw against Darlington and an away win at Bedford Athletic and are now within touching distance of ninth placed Blaydon if the results were to go their way.

These two sides met for the first time in league rugby last season and it was honours even with both sides winning their home fixtures comfortably.
