Terrace talk - National Three South

National Three South

Haywards Heath v Dings Crusaders

Bottom of the table Haywards Heath are at home to fifth placed Dings Crusaders as they still look for that elusive first win of the season.

Haywards Heath were again beaten last weekend as they went down to their 10th straight defeat of the season. They did though pick up a couple of bonus points in the defeat at Reading as they ran in four tries and lost by seven or less. They are not far of that first win and believe once they have one others will follow.

Dings were home winners last weekend against Weston super Mare but were not at their best and only won by six points thanks to the boot of new boy Danny Gray from the Shoguns.

Prediction: Dings by less than six points.

Hertford v Redruth

Fourth placed Redruth travel to 10th placed Hertford knowing they need to win to try and stay in touch with the leading three sides in the division who are three points ahead of them.

Hertford were well beaten at Havant last weekend

Redruth know that if they are to have any chance of keeping pace with the leaders these are the away matches they must be winning on a regular basis.

Prediction: Redruth to win by seven points.

Lydney v Reading

Third placed Lydney entertain ninth placed Reading in a must win home game for them if they are to keep in touch with the top two.

Lydney will be looking to bounce back after a couple of defeats and with home advantage would expect to beat Reading and get back to winning ways as well as picking up a four try bonus point along the way.

Reading were pushed by Haywards Heath last weekend conceding four tries to the bottom of the table side so defensively they will need to tighten up for the visit to Regentsholme.

Prediction: Lydney to win this one by more than 10 points.

Old Patesians v North Walsham

Leaders North Walsham travel to 11th placed Old Patesians looking to maintain top spot with another away win.

North Walsham will be confident of victory at Old Patesians after their excellent win last week over Lydney in a really tight affair which they took 7-3 with a try after five minutes.  They will need to be aware that Barking suffered a loss at Old Patesians so nothing can be taken for granted.

Old Patesians were losers last week at Redruth but that is not a disaster as they have an excellent home record and not many sides win down there. Old Patesians on their day seem capable of giving anyone a run for their money at Everest Road as Barking

It is tight near the bottom and Old Pats could climb to sixth place if they were to beat the leaders.

Prediction: North Walsham to win by eight points.

Southend v Havant

Sixth placed Havant will travel to 12th placed Southend in confident mood after their recent climb up the National Three South League table. That though is as high as they will go for a while as they are nine points behind fifth placed Dings Crusaders.

Southend picked up an excellent away win at Westcombe Park and will look to build on that and try and make their home form like it was last season.

Havant come into the match after a good home win over Hertford last weekend when they were 36-10 winners.

Prediction: Southend by less than seven points.

Westcombe Park v Barking

Seventh placed Westcombe Park play host to an in form Barking side who are second in the table and have now scored 73 more points than any other side in the division after their recent four match winning run.

Westcombe Park will be looking to recover from last weeks home defeat to Southend but Barking may not be the ideal to do this. They had been doing well until the Southend defeat which was a game they had down as a win.

In Form Barking will be looking for another win to continue their excellent recent run and keep the pressure on leaders North Walsham.

Prediction: Barking by 10 points.

Weston super Mare v Tabard

13th placed Weston are at home this weekend to eighth placed Tabard knowing a win could see them join Tabard on 22 points if they were to secure a bonus point and stop Tabard picking one up, that how tight it is down near the bottom of the table.

Out of sorts Weston super Mare will be looking to try and return to winning ways with this home fixture over inconsistent Tabard. Weston were beaten at Dings Crusaders last week but only by six points.

Tabard were well beaten at Barking last weekend so will see this as a far easier game with the home side struggling at present to find any form.

Prediction: Tabard to win by less than five points.
