Terrace Talk - National Three South

Check out our weekly previews and predictions

NATIONAL THREE SOUTH

Barking v Southend

Leaders Barking entertain seventh placed Southend looking to continue their superb recent form which has seen them move to the top of the table above North Walsham.

Barking are unbeaten at home with six wins and a draw so far this season and in four of their home matches they have picked up the four try bonus point.

They are easily the leading scorers in the division by over a 100 points and have the second best defensive record behind Redruth.

Southend have moved up the table in recent weeks with improved form, three wins in their last four league matches. On the road this season Southend have done reasonable well with three wins from their six matches.

When they met earlier in the season Barking were 40-23 winners.

.

Prediction: Home win by 10 points.

Dings Crusaders v Tabard

Fifth placed Dings Crusaders entertain Tabard looking to keep their great season going with win number 11.

Dings have a 100% record at home this season winning all six matches but only once have they picked up the four try bonus point.

Tabard are going through a poor spell losing their last four a run which has seen they slip down to 12th place in the National Three South league table.

When the sides met at Cobden Hill earlier in the season Tabard were 26-23 winners but are unlikely to do the double over Dings.

Prediction: Home win by 12 points.

Havant v Old Patesians

Sixth placed Havant entertain 11th placed Old Patesians with both sides looking to get back to winning ways after defeats last weekend.

Havant were disappointed to lose at Hertford last weekend in a match they thought they could win for a third away success of the season.

At home this season Havant have done reasonably well with four wins form six matches.

Old Patesians have lost three of their last four and need to start getting some wins to get out of the relegation zone. On the road this season they have managed to pick up two wins in four matches.

Old Patesians were 27-20 winners when the sides met at Everest Road earlier in the season.

Prediction: Home win by less than six points.

North Walsham v Haywards Heath

Second placed North Walsham will be looking to get back with winning ways and get the four try bonus point as they try and get last weeks loss out of their system with a home match against bottom of the table Haywards Heath.

North Walsham are unbeaten at home this season but have been given a couple of close calls by Redruth and Lydney. The loss at Lydney last Saturday was just their second defeat of the season, the other was a defeat at leaders Barking.

Haywards Heath were beaten at home last weekend in a match they needed to win really if they were to start making inroads on the sides above them in the league table.

They have managed just the one win on the road this season out of five matches played.

North Walsham were comfortable winners at Haywards Heath earlier in the season 31-0.

Prediction: Home win by 12 points.

Reading v Weston super Mare

Ninth placed Reading are looking to build on last weeks win with a home success over second bottom Weston super Mare.

Reading were away winners last week at Haywards Heath to end a two match losing run. At home this season Reading have done well with four wins from six matches.

A win for Reading with the bonus point could see them rise to sixth in the National Three South League table.

Weston have lost three of their last four matches and need to turn that form round to try and climb out of the relegation zone.

Weston’s form on the road has been dreadful this season with just one win in seven matches to date a 29-16 win at Haywards Heath.

Weston were winners at home to Reading when they met earlier in the season coming through 25-13.

Prediction: Home win by less than six points.

Redruth v Lydney

The game of the day in the division as third placed Lydney travel to fourth placed Redruth knowing that a defeat for either would seriously dent their chances of catching the top two who will be at least 11 points behind them assuming the top two win their home fixtures at the weekend.

Redruth have put together a good winning run at present and will be keen to see it continue on Saturday as they look to maintain their 100% start to the season.

Lydney will be confident after a good win last weekend against then leaders North Walsham. On the road this season, Lydney have lost twice now losing at Dings Crusaders and North Walsham.

In three of their four defeats they have picked up the losing by seven of less bonus point after going down to narrow losses.

.

Redruth are looking for the double over Lydney having won 16-15 at Regentsholme earlier in the season.

Prediction: Home win by less than three points.

Westcombe Park v Hertford

10th placed Combe entertain Hertford at Goddington Dene looking to get back to winning ways after a poor recent run.

Combe have lost their last three matches and dropped a few places down the table recently. At home they have a 50% record with three wins and three defeats in the six home games.

Hertford were winners again last weekend and ended a poor run which had seen them lose four in a row and drop down the table after a bright opening to the season.

Combe were winner at Hertford earlier in the season winning 29-19 and will be looking to complete the double over the new comers to National League ruby.

Prediction: Home win by less than six points.
