National Two

 

Blackheath v Rosslyn Park

10th placed Blackheath need to find some form in the home fixture against second bottom Rosslyn Park otherwise they could find themselves in a relegation place.

 

Blackheath are going through a dreadful run at the moment with just one win in their last six matches. At home this season they have managed just three wins and a draw in nine matches at the Rectory Field.  

 

Park are bottom of the Form Guide with six straight defeats since winning at Nuneaton in mid December.

On the road this season Park have managed just two wins in eight matches with only Nuneaton and Esher having worse records.  

 

When these two sides met earlier in the season were winners in a low scoring match 8-3.

 

Prediction: Blackheath to move away from the relegation zone with an eight point win.

Bracknell v Nuneaton

Ninth placed Bracknell entertain bottom of the table Nuneaton knowing a win could take them 11 points clear of the relegation zone.

 

Bracknell are fourth in the Form Guide with five wins in six matches in a remarkable turnaround in form.

At home Bracknell now have a 50/50 record with three successive wins since losing to Moseley in early December.

 

Nuneaton have lost their two and managed just two wins in six matches and are still seven points of catching Park and 11 points off safety.

On the road they have managed just the one win in nine matches with a 10-7 win at Launceston. .

 

When these two met at Liberty Way earlier in the season it was honours even after they drew eight all.

 

Prediction: Bracknell won win by 10 points.

Doncaster v Launceston

Leaders Doncaster entertain fifth placed Launceston looking to maintain their 10 point lead at the top of the table. .

 

Doncaster top the Form Guide with six straight wins since losing to Moseley in December. At home this season they have a perfect record with eight wins from eight matches.

 

Launceston were winners last time out after three successive defeats which saw them slip down the league table.

On the road they still have a good record with five wins and two draws from their nine matches with only Manchester and Newbury defeating them.

 

When the side met at Polson Bridge earlier in the season the Yorkshire side were 15-8 winners.

 

Prediction: Doncaster to win by 10 points.

Moseley v Esher

Fourth placed Moseley entertain 11th placed Esher need the win to see if they can make any headway on second placed Newbury.

 

Moseley have a superb home record with eight wins in nine matches and only Newbury leaving with the win.

 

Esher have shown some improved form of late with back to back wins to move out of the relegation zone.  

On the road this season they have a poor record with just one win, at Wharfedale on their last road trip after seven successive defeats.

 

When they met at the Rugby Ground earlier in the season Esher were 22-16 winners.

 

Prediction: Moseley to win by 12 points.

Newbury v Harrogate

Second placed Newbury are at home this week to third bottom Harrogate looking to keep the pressure on the leaders.

 

Newbury are second in the Form Guide with five wins in their last six matches to pull clear in second place nine points clear of the chasing pack.   

At home this season, Newbury have won eight out of nine with only leaders Doncaster leaving with the points.

 

Harrogate will be looking to get back to winning ways after a defeat last time out which ended their two match winning run.

On the road this season the Yorkshire side have picked up just two wins in eight matches with wins at Blackheath and Nuneaton.

 

When these two met at Claro Road earlier this season Newbury were comfortable winners 32-8.  

 

Prediction: Newbury by 15 points to keep the pressure on Doncaster.

Waterloo v Manchester

Sixth placed Waterloo entertain third placed Manchester knowing a win would take them above them in the table. .

 

Waterloo are third in the Form Guide with five wins in their last six matches. At home this season they have an average record with four wins and a draw in eight matches winning their last two games at Blundellsands.   

 

Manchester are down to sixth in the Form Guide with just one win in their last four matches.

On the road this season they have picked up just three wins in nine matches which is why they have fallen of the pace, nine points behind Newbury.

 

When the sides met at Grove Park earlier in the season Manchester were 21-14 winners.

 

Prediction: Waterloo to win by six points.

Wharfedale v Stourbridge

Seventh placed Wharfedale take on eighth placed Stourbridge at Threshfields looking for the win to climb above them in the league table.

 

Wharfedale are looking for back to back wins as they look to improve their recent form which has seen them win just two of their last six matches.

At home this season they have a good record with six wins in nine matches including a 9-6 success over second placed Newbury.

 

Stourbridge are way down the Form Guide with just one win in their last six matches. Away from home this season they have a good record with five wins and a draw in nine matches. .

 

Wharfedale are looking for the double over Stourbridge after winning at Stourton Park 22-10 earlier in the season.

 

Prediction: Home win by six points. .
