Terrace Talk - National Three South

Check out our weekly previews and predictions.

NATIONAL THREE SOUTH

Dings Crusaders v Havant

Sixth placed Havant travel to 5th placed Dings Crusaders looking for a win which could see them go above Dings in the table.

Dings are now at the wrong end of the Form Guide after going down to their fourth successive defeat last week at Redruth which n itself is not a bad result as Redruth are in fantastic form at the moment.

At home they have a good record with seven wins form nine matches with only the top two leaving with wins this season.

Havant have picked up three wins and a draw in their last six matches and with a win here could close to within a couple of points of Dings.  On the road this season they have not the best of records with just two wins and a draw from their 10 matches.

Havant were 17-10 winners when these two met earlier in the season.

Prediction: Havant to sneak away win by four points.

Haywards Heath v Hertford

7th placed Hertford travel to bottom of the table Haywards Heath looking to try and close the gap on sixth placed Havant who have a tough match at Dings Crusaders.

Haywards Heath are virtually playing for pride now they would need an amazing turnaround in form to escape the drop and still have some tough matches away from home yet to come. They are 17 points from safety which is four wins and a bonus point and tats allowing for the other sides above them not picking up any points.

Hertford had an excellent win last week at home to Lydney and have four wins and a draw in their last six matches to sit in fourth place in the Form Guide.

Away from home they have picked up just two wins from their nine matches although do also have a draw to their name as well and have the 8th best away record in the division.

Hertford were narrow 16-10 winners when these two sides met earlier in the season

Prediction: Hertford to win by eight points.

Lydney v Old Patesians

Lydney will be looking to put last weeks bad loss at Hertford out of their system with a home win over 11th placed Old Patesians.

Lydney will be looking to make it nine out of 11 at Regentsholme and get last weeks’ loss at Hertford out of their system. They are in seventh place now in the Form Guide with just two wins in their last five matches.

Old Pats are down in 11th place in the Form Guide with just one win and one draw form their last six matches and are seven points ahead of relegation threatened Weston who have yet to come to Everest Road. .

On the road this season Old Pats do not have a good record with just two wins and seven defeats to date.

When these two met earlier in the season the Regentsholme the home side were 23-8 winners.

Prediction: Home success by eight points.

North Walsham v Barking

Second placed North Walsham entertain leaders Barking knowing a victory would see them move above them in the table with just six matches left. .

With Redruth in great form this is a must win game for both sides as they have both yet to go to Redruth and the losers could find themselves under severe pressure for the Cornish side in the coming weeks.

North Walsham have a 100% record at Scottow this season winning all nine matches and picking up the four try bonus point in seven of them. They have won five in a row now since they were beaten at Lydney and know the win would take them top of the table.

Barking are still winning but the free flowing scoring tries for fun has stopped of late and they have had to big a couple of results out which is not always a bad thing.

On the road they have won eight out of nine with the one defeat coming at Old Patesians a narrow 14-13 loss.

When the two met at Gorsebrook earlier in the season Barking with home advantage were 23-7 winners.

Prediction: Home win by less than six points.

Reading v Redruth

Eighth placed Reading entertain an In Form Redruth side who could get within a win of the top two if the results go their way.

Reading are fifth in the Form Guide with four wins from their last six matches although they have lost their last two although they were against the top two Barking and North Walsham.

Redruth are the form side of the division and with one of the top two dropping points this weekend and them both having to go to Redruth yet it could get very interesting for a top two spot.

On the road this season Redruth have won seven and drawn one of their 10 matches losing at Dings and North Walsham and getting g a draw at Barking.

Redruth were 33-10 winners when the two sides met earlier in the season.

Prediction: Away win by eight points for Redruth.

Tabard v Westcombe Park

Second bottom Tabard entertain 10th Westcombe Park knowing this is a must win match as they try and close the gap on the sides above them.

Tabard are looking in serious danger of losing their National League status as they are second bottom and 10 points off safety with seven matches left but only two of these are against sides in the top half of the division.

At home this season they have managed just three wins form nine matches with their best win a 26-23 win over Dings Crusaders.

Westcombe Park are ninth in the Form Guide and going the right way with two wins and a draw in their last four matches. They do not have the best of records on the road with just two wins out of nine so far this season and they came at Hertford and Weston super Mare. .

Combe were comfortable 32-15 winners when the sides met a Goddington Dene earlier in the season.

Prediction: Away win by six points.

Weston super Mare v Southend

12th placed Weston entertain 9th placed Southend in need of a win to try and close the gap on the sides above them and out of the relegation zone.

For Weston super Mare this is a must win game as they look to try and close the seven point gap between themselves and safety. They sit second bottom of the Form Guide with just a draw in their last six matches. At home they have managed just three wins so far this season from nine matches as well as a draw against Havant.

They are the lowest points scorers in the division with 270, 13 fewer than Haywards Heath have managed.

Southend have done well this season and are 13 points clear of safety with seven matches left so there would need to be a dramatic turnaround in fortunes for them to be dragged into the relegation battle.

On the road this season they have picked up three wins form their nine matches and have the sixth best record in the division.

Southend were narrow winners 21-15 when these two sides met earlier in the season.

Prediction: Southend to win away at Weston by seven points.
