Big win for Blaydon who are up to 10th place in the table now and four points clear of the relegation zone and they have one or two games in hand on the teams below them in the table. DK really needed a win here to close the gap on safety which is now eight points.
Blaydon took the lead when fly half Dan Clappison went over for a try and added the conversion for a 7-0 lead. DK were on the scoreboard when Andrew McLellan slotted over a penalty goal but in the 25th minute the visitors scored a second try with Fatu Tulaga going over for an unconverted try and a 12-3 lead at the break.
Six minutes into the second half wing Ian Gowland went in for a try to get the home side back to 12-8.
Blaydon went further ahead with a Clappison penalty goal before wrapping the game up with right wing Simon Barber touching down.

Huge game for both sides at Blackwell Meadows with the home side taking the win and they are up to ninth spot in the league table as they record back to back wins whilst Bedford Athletic lose again on the road and remain bottom of the table.
Athletic made the better start and were 7-0 up in six minutes with No 8 Scott Grant touching down and Ashley Tapper added the extras and then a few minutes later Tapper slotted over a penalty goal for 10-0.
The home side were on the scoreboard in the 22nd minute when David Kell slotted over a penalty goal. It was all level in the 33rd minute when flanker Michael Taylor crossing the Bedford line and Kell converted.
Just before the break Bedford went ahead again when right wing Andrew Bennett went in for try number two and a 15-10 half time lead.
Early in the second half Tapper kicked his second penalty goal and a first away win of the season beckoned for the visitors.
Darlington though had other ideas and were right back in it just before the hour mark when scrum half Robert Stewart went in for a try.
They took the lead in the 69th minute when Taylor got his second try of the afternoon and Kell converted for 22-18. Kell sealed the win with a 73rd minute penalty goal.

Excellent day for Macclesfield picking up all five points and with Bradford & Bingley failing to secure a bonus point in the home win against DMP they are now eight points clear in second place and a play off place looks odds on.
The first half was a tight affair with the home side just edging it. Fly half Steven Dean gave the visitors a 6-0 lead with two penalties in the opening eight minutes. The home side were on the scoreboard when flanker David Muckalt got a try and five minutes later winger Mark Frost got try number two for a 12-6 lead. Deans levelled with two more penalty goals but the home side got their third try just before the break with centre Anthony Howcroft scoring.
Dean kicked a fifth penalty early in the second half but proved to be their last points as the home side totally dominated.
They ran if four more tries to run out comfortable winners with both Frost and Howcroft completing doubles.

Bad day for Bradford & Bingley as they struggle to beat DMP failing to pick up the four try bonus point sees Macclesfield move another point clear of them with matches running out. They will not only have to win at Macclesfield but will also probably need to beat leaders Halifax if they are to have any chance of making the play offs.
DMP were quick off the mark and were over the home line in the third minute wit right wing Peter Phelan touching down for an unconverted try in what proved to be the only score of the half.
In the second half the visitors went 8-0 ahead with Iain Dixon slotting over a 50th minute penalty goal.
The home side finally made it onto the scoreboard on 71 minutes when Tom Rhodes slotted over a penalty goal and three minutes later they were ahead with winger Nau touching down and Rhodes converted for 10-8. Rhodes added another penalty goal in the 78th minute to sealed the win and take four very valuable points.

The Cleckheaton band wagon keeps on rolling with this comfortable home win over Kendal which sees them all but safe now in 8th place and eight points clear of DMP who occupy the final relegation place.
The home side won this match in the first half with four tries and a 26-0 lead. The tries were split between the backs and the forwards, with two each and the bonus point was in the bag.
Oliver Akroyd got the first in the 6th minute and then converted the other three after No 8 John Dudley, Flanker Geoff Jones and centre Neil Murray touched down.
In the second half Kendal got two tries in the opening 10 minutes to pull 12 points back before the home side got a fifth try from winger John Bentley.
Tynedale 24 (Tries: Hills, Holmes, Gray, Brown. Cons: Massey 2 )

Tynedale move above Fylde in the National Three league table after this home success over the Lancashire side into 5th place.
Flanker Quentin King got the visitors off to a great start with a fifth minute try and a 5-0 lead. Paul Green missed the conversion but slotted over a penalty goal a couple of minutes later. Centre Barry Hills got the home side on the scoreboard in the 12th minute but in the 22nd minute Green went in for a try which he also converted and Fylde took the 15-5 lead into the half time break.
Six minutes into the second half and the Tynedale scrum half Edward Holmes went in for a try and William Massey converted.
They took the lead in the 52nd minute when centre Ali Gray touched down and Massy again converted to give Tynedale a 19-15 lead.
On the hour Green kicked a penalty goal to get the visitors back to within a point. Just two minutes later and the home side got try number four with flanker Rowan Brown touching down in what was the final score of the match.

Leaders Halifax just march on with an 18th successive win in the league this season. Rugby Lions remain a place above the relegation zone and are just one point clear of DMP but have played a game more.
Rugby were first on the scoreboard with a Glenn Bond penalty goal in the fifth minute. The lead lasted just two minutes before Halifax went in front with a try from full back Anzac Luteru who added a second on 17 minutes to make it 10-3.
Bond added a second penalty goal in the 22nd minutes but the home side got two more tries before the break with No 8 Robert Afoa Peterson touching down and the referee awarding them a penalty try which Douglas Sanft converted for a 22-6 half time lead and the four try bonus point in the bag.
Bond kicked a third penalty goal early in the second half but Afoa Paterson got a second try in the 56th minute to put Halifax 27-9 ahead.
Rugby finally got across the home line in the 70th minute with scrum half Scott Clendenning Fenton touching down and Bond added the extras. Halifax though finished strongly and got two tries in the final few minutes as Afoa Peterson completed a hat trick and winger Oliver Marns got the other to round off the scoring. |
