Barking v Haywards Heath

Top plays bottom at Gorsebrook with Barking entertaining Haywards Heath.  

 

Barking will be in buoyant mood after last weeks win at Redruth which was their 16th in a row and they find themselves 11 points clear at the top of the table and the Championship all but won.

 

Haywards Heath will be trying to make sure they don’t have another week like last week when they were thrashed at home by Lydney 77-15 conceding 11 tries. 

 

Barking were 32-6 winners at Whiteman’s Green earlier in the season.

 

Prediction:  Home success by more than 10 points.

Havant v Redruth

Fifth placed Havant look to take another big scalp this week with the visit of second placed Redruth.   

 

After last weeks amazing win at North Walsham Havant will believe they can beat Redruth at home and dent their play off hopes and do North Walsham a favour.

Although winning at North Walsham last time out of Hooks Lane they were beaten by Reading which was their third home loss of the season. 

 

Redruth will be keen to get last weeks result out of their system now with an away win and keep North Walsham at bay in the race for second spot.   

Redruth have the second best away record in the division after Barking losing just twice in 11 matches.

  

Redruth were comfortable winners when these two sides met earlier in the season. winning 41-14.   

Prediction:  Redruth to take the win with six point win.

Hertford v Dings Crusaders

Sixth placed Hertford entertain seventh placed Dings Crusaders whom they moved above in the table last week.  

 

Hertford are going for a fifth straight win and a sixth match unbeaten At home this season they have picked up seven wins in 11 matches.

Last week they were winners away at Tabard scoring five tries along the way.

 

Dings Crusaders are looking for a second successive win after last week’s success at home to Southend, which ended a long losing run.  

On the road this season Dings have picked up four wins in 10 matches to date.

 

Dings Crusaders were comfortable 29-5 winners when these two met earlier in the season.

 

Prediction:  Home success by six points.

Lydney v Weston super Mare

Fourth placed Lydney are at home to third bottom Weston super Mare looking for back to back wins.  

 

Lydney found some of their early season form last weekend as they thrashed bottom of the table Haywards Heath 77-15 with full back Adam Westall scoring a divisional record of 42 points with four tries and 11 conversions.  At home this season they have the third best record in the division losing twice in 11 matches to date.

 

Weston are in serious trouble now 12 points from safety with just four matches remaining including this tough encounter at Regentsholme.

They were beaten at home last Saturday by Old Patesians in a high scoring match at home.

 

Weston have a poor away record with just one win all season.

 

Prediction:  Lydney to take all five points with 10 point win.

Old Patesians v Tabard

10th placed Old Patesians entertain second bottom Tabard looking to return to winning ways.  

 

Old Patesians were away winners last Saturday at Weston running in eight tries as they made it back to back wins. At home they have an average record with five wins, five defeats and a draw form their 11 matches this season.

 

Tabard are all but relegated now even if they get maximum points Westcombe Park and Old Patesians only need two or one points respectively to put themselves out of reach.

On the road this season they have managed just the one win in 11 matches.

 

Tabard, were 17-11 winners when these two met at Cobden Hill earlier in the season.

 

Prediction:  Home win for Old Patesians by nine points.

Southend v Reading

Ninth placed Southend entertain eighth placed Reading looking to return to winning ways.  

 

Southend will be looking for home advantage to get them back to winning ways with six of their home wins coming at home so far this season. They were beaten last Saturday at Dings Crusaders.   

 

Reading were home winners last week in a tough match against Westcombe Park which made it back to back wins for the Berkshire side.

They have not got the best of records on the road this season with just three wins in 11 matches.

 

Reading were comfortable winners when these two sides met earlier in the season 37-9.

 

Prediction:  Away win by three points in a tough game to call.

Westcombe Park v North Walsham

11th placed Westcombe Park are at home this weekend to third placed North Walsham with the visitors in a determined mood to return to winning ways.  

 

Combe gave Reading a run for their money at Holme Park last Saturday before going down to a 29-35 defeat. That defeat ended a three match winning run for Combe which helped them move clear of the relegation zone. 

 

North Walsham go to Combe looking to get their season back on track after three successive defeats which has ended the Championship chances and are now fighting to get a play off slot along with Redruth.

     

Combe gave North Walsham a good game when the met earlier in the season before going down 28-17. 

 

Prediction:  Away win by nine points for North Walsham.
