11 try romp for Barking as they close in on the National Three South title with this comprehensive win over bottom of the table Haywards Heath.
Leading the way was winger Lloyd Williams who ran in four tries to move onto 17 for the season, two behind the leaders at the top of the try scorers list.
Ben Montgomery also scored 20 points converting six of the 11 tries. Kicking a penalty goal and going over for a try. By half time they had a 39-0 lead with six tries. Williams opened the scoring in the second half to complete his hat trick and got his fourth in the 69th minutes as Barking continued to run in the tries.
Westcombe Park 26 (Tries: Eksteen, Archibald, De Kock. Con: Barnett. Pens: Barnett 2. DG: Wolmarans.)
North Walsham 7 (Try: Malone. Con: Wyatt.)
North Walsham slipped to another defeat with this loss at Westcombe Park.
The visitors took the lead with flanker Tim Malone going over for a 24th minute try which Jonny Wyatt converted. The home sides responded almost immediately with prop Matthys Eksteen going over the visitor’s line. They took the lead a few minutes later with second row Nathan Archibald touching down for a 10-7 half time lead.
Five minutes into the second half and they went further ahead with Sam Barnett putting over a penalty goal and then adding another on 65 minutes for 16-7. Wessels Wolmarans dropped a goal to keep the scoreboard ticking over before they sealed the win with a 77th minute try from full back Gert De Kock converted by Barnett and they moved up to 10th place in the table.

Havant 15 (Tries: Avery, Petzer. Con: Cooper. Pen: Claffey.)
Redruth 19 (Try: Penalty try. Con: Brown. Pens: Brown 4.)
Just what Redruth needed an away win at Havant to get them back on track for a play off place and with North Walsham coming unstuck at Westcombe Park they now have a seven point gap on their nearest rivals.
Bede Brown put the Cornish side in the lead with a 7th minute penalty goal. Havant were in front though on 14 minutes with Cam Avery going in for his 19th try of the season to join Redruth’s Nathan Pedley at the top of the try scorers list.
Brown slotted over a couple more penalties in the first half to give Redruth a 9-5 lead.
Two minutes into the second half Redruth were awarded a penalty goal and with Brown adding the extras they were 16-5 ahead.
Stephen Claffey slotted over a 52nd minute penalty goal but Brown cancelled that out in the 66th minute. The home side made it a tense finish with a 78th minute try from full back Anton Petzer and Nicholas Cooper converted.
Lydney 76 (Tries: Emery 3, Westall 2, Turoa 2, Vine 3, Macrea, Johnson. Cons: Westall 8.)
Weston 26 (Tries: Sprague 2, Cook, Madamombe. Cons: Curgenven 3.)
Lydney continue their try feat after last weeks bag full last week they ran in another 10 this week and Adam Westall added another 26 points to his 42 form last week as the approaches the 300 mark for the season with two tries and eight conversion making it 19 conversions out of 23 attempts.
No 8 David Emery completed a hat trick with two in the first half and the opening try of the second half and centre Charles Vine bagged a double to move onto nine for the season, although he completed a hat trick late in the game to move into double figures.
They scored six tries in the first half as they built up a 38-19 lead with winger Paul Sprague bagging a brace for the visitors.
In the second half they scored another 24 points in the opening 28 minutes to go 64-19 ahead. Weston did manage a bonus point when centre TJ Madamombe went in for a try on 70 minutes before two late tries saw the home side pass the 70 point mark for the second week running.
Southend 20 (Tries: B Green, Gates, Connors. Con: B Green. Pen: B Green.)
Reading 30 (Tries: Chandler 2, Murdoch, Johnson. Cons: Johnson 2. Pens: Chandler 2.)
Reading move above Dings Crusaders into seventh place after this away win at Southend with full back Spike Chandler contributing 20 points.
He got the visitors on the scoreboard with a 2nd minute penalty goal which was cancelled out by Ben green two minutes later. Chandler added a second penalty goal in the 15th minute before left wing David Murdoch got the opening try of the match for Reading to see them go in 11-3 ahead. Five minutes into the second half and Reading extended their lead with No 8 Tom Johnson going in for his 13th try of the season and Chandler converted for 18-3.
Ben Green got a try for the home side but on 51 minutes Chandler went over the home line and converted to give Reading a 25-8 lead.
Southend staged a mini revival with tries from full back Luke Gates and No 8 Jamie Connors and with Green adding a conversion they were five points adrift of Reading.
The visitors though wrapped up the win late on with Chandler going over for the fourth Reading try and the win and the bonus point were secured.
Hertford 37 (Try: Barella 2, Jordaan 2, Wilson. Cons: Barella 3. Pens: Barella 2.)
Dings Crusaders 13 (Tries: Weaver, M Lloyd. Pen: Gasson.)
Hertford continue their excellent season with a comfortable home success over Dings Crusaders who drop down to eighth place in the table.
Neil Barella stole the show early on for Hertford, for a change, with 18 points in the opening 33 minutes with a couple of tries, a conversion and two penalty goals to give his side an 18-3 lead with Waylon Gasson kicking a penalty for Dings. .
Left wing Dean Weaver pulled five points back for Dings in the 38th minute but on 40 minutes No 8 Machendrik Jordaan went over for a try and with Barella converting the home side went in 25-8 ahead.
In the second half it took them till the 75th minute to add to their score when they secured the bonus point when centre Craig Wilson went over the Dings line and Barella converted. Both sides scored tries in the final couple of minutes as Hertford took the win.
Old Patesians 43 (Tries: Pettigrew 2, Mellon 2, B Parker 2, Daws. Cons: Nunn 4.)
Tabard 21 (Tries: Marshall, Matthews. Con: Colborne. Pens: Colborne 3.)
Old Patesians have jumped up to 9th place in the league table after looking like relegation materials just a few weeks ago with some good results.
Tabard started the better and were 12-0 ahead in the opening 20 minutes with tries form fly half Richard Marshall and replacement back row man Ron Matthews who was on as a temporary replacement.
No 8 James Pettigrew pulled five points back for the home side and Russell Nunn added the conversion but two Rob Colborne penalty goals saw the visitors go 18-7 ahead with 35 minutes gone. Just before the break though the home side got a second try as left wing Chris Mellon touched down and they trailed 12-18 at the break.
It took them eight minutes in the second half to take the lead with Mellon getting a second and then centre Ben Parker touching down and with Nunn adding a conversion they were 24-18 ahead. Parker completed a double just before the hour mark to put the home side 29-18 ahead but just after the hour mark Colborne pulled three points back with his third penalty goal. Old Patesians finished well with two more tries in the last 10 minutes with flanker Simon Daws touching down and Pettigrew completing a double to round off the win. |
