Coaching Development Department Staff

The Coaching Development Department has a number of staff based at Twickenham who are responsible for the overall strategy and management of Coaching Development. The personnel at HQ are supported Regionally, and more locally in the Counties, (known as Constituent Bodies - CBs), by 3 groups of people who are essential parts of the overall organisation, administration and delivery of Coaching Courses. These groups are:-

9 Regional Rugby Development Managers, (RRDM’s) who manage 3 / 4 RDO’s and are responsible for Regional strategies.

9 Regional Coaching Leads, who head up coaching matters in their region

45 Rugby Development Officers, (RDO’s) who organise and deliver coaching courses and other events.

29 Constituent Body Coaching Coordinators, (CBCC’s) who play a key role in the administration of Coaching Courses.

8 Twickenham based staff

Level 3  Assessors

Mentors and their Coaches

Coaches being mentored have been selected for their potential and are generally at, or working towards, Level 3 status. The pairings are intended to last for 2 years and this group of coaches will conclude their mentoring this summer. As a result of their mentoring they will be, by their own admission, more effective coaches. Anyone dedicated, talented and deserving of being mentored at these levels should contact their Regional Coaching Lead. New coaches will be selected this summer to begin a new 2 year cycle
