Lancashire Women and Girls’ Rugby Union Development Group have been successful in receiving Local Network Funding to the sum of £7,000.
The funding, applied for by Caroline Wolfendale (North Lancs Assistant RDO) is in place to offer girls up to the age of 19 the opportunity to experience Rugby Union in varying capacities.
The bid was compiled to fit set criteria under the heading of aspirations and experiences - projects helping children and young people achieve goals that they would otherwise be unable to achieve due to disadvantage.
It is hoped that the funding will enable the women’s and girl’s clubs within Lancashire to work with differing groups of young women to aid their recruitment and retention and raise self-esteem and leadership qualities within these young people.
Since coming into post 18 months ago, Caroline has set up the Development Group and brought in £12,000 of external funding through Awards for All bids and Local Network Funding. |
