St Albans-based women’s rugby team OA Saints are searching for a new head coach to help them step up to the challenge of national competition in Premiership League 2.
Unbeaten in South East league one last season, OA Saints have been building strength and depth in their squad and this season hope to establish a regular second team.
But their progress may be hampered without a head coach to lead the squad and develop their game further.
Captain Tasha Saint-Smith is leading the search. "We have a committed team of coaches who have worked hard with us over the years to get us to where we are now,” she said. “But now we need a new head coach to help us go up a gear and develop our game plan so that we can compete at the higher level.”
“We have a fit and eager squad who want to prove that they deserve to be in the top flight, we just need someone to help guide us there.”
OA Saints’ home is Woollam’s playing fields outside St Albans that boasts top class rugby facilities and is host to many international games. The women train on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
