A Perfect Match

September 20, 2005

The Rugby Football Union for Women have today announced an exciting new partnership with PruHealth Medical Insurance in association with e-xcellenthealth which will help further develop the women’s game as well as offer its members a completely unique policy.

With the popularity of the women’s game continuously growing – the RFUW has 8,000 members with tens of thousands playing rugby on a regular basis – the RFUW are delighted with the opportunity to team up with PruHealth, a company  who have seven million policy holders in the UK.

Heath care brokers e-xcellenthealth have brought PruHealth and the RFUW together in this partnership which will help provide essential funding.

With a large majority of the RFUW’s resources invested in visiting schools nation-wide to support grass roots rugby the RFUW will receive an immediate cash injection from PRU Heath, ongoing income stream through introducers’ fees, discounted reliable ‘rugby friendly’ private health insurance for RFUW members, free vouchers to members towards kit, schools support and health and fitness advice at regional meetings. Additionally through encouraging its members to stay healthy members will be rewarded with reduced premiums - in essence the healthier lifestyle you lead, the less you could pay.

Rosie Williams, Managing Director of the RFUW, said: “We are veryexcited about our new relationship. We think it is very important that rugby players are insured for all eventualities and through this we have come up with an excellent deal that will benefit all rugby players.”

David Priestley, Distribution & Sales Director of PruHealth, said: “PruHealth are pleased to be associated with the RFUW in offering voluntary health insurance to all members, families and those associated with the RFUW. Sport in general and improving fitness is a key part of our message for leading more active lives.

“PruHealth is part of the globally recognised Prudential Group and it is inductive of the growth of women's rugby that we are now able to build partnerships with such a great brand."

Joe Heavey, corporate manager at e-xcellenthealth, added: “With the launch of PruHealth we recognised the synergy between PRU’s proactive stance of rewarding a healthy lifestyle and the youth and vitality of the RFUW. They are a perfect match”.
