Supermarine continued their winning form with a solid home win on Sunday in a friendly against local rivals Chippenham. Supermarine dominated play from the whistle and opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes with a strong run from Kate Kowalczuk breaking Chippenham’s defensive line and passing the ball out wide to the backs to score the first try of the game. Quick thinking by scrum-half Theresa Bickell and prop Fran Brewer saw them take a quick lineout close to Chippenham’s try line and popping back out to Becky Chester to score her first try for the club. Further quick play and off-loading from the tackle by Supermarine saw them leading by 22-0 at half-time.
The start of the second half saw Chippenham raise their game and produce some solid scum’s, putting Supermarine onto the back foot. However good defensive work from Supermarine ensured that the score-line remained unaffected. After a period of scrappy play and some hard fought breaks on the part of Sammy Way, Supermarine were finally able to capitalise on their possession to score a further two try's. Final Score Supermarine Ladies 34 - Chippenham Ladies 0.
