ST MARY’S OLD BOYS LADIES 0 – SUPERMARINE LADIES 31

Supermarine Ladies returned to winning form on Sunday with a strong win against St Mary’s Old Boys Ladies, despite the foggy weather.

The first half saw Supermarine enjoy 70% of the possession and spend much of it camped on St Marys’ try line, unable to break their defence. Finally Captain Claire Chard led the way with some good strong running to score the first try of the game. Some scrappy play by Supermarine saw them give away several unnecessary penalties, which allowed St Mary’s back into the game with some strong attacking play. Undeterred Supermarine fought on, with their hard work paying off when Claire Chard scored her second try of the game.

The second half began well for Supermarine. After a pass gone astray bounced off the ground right into the hands of Shone Watt while she was running on at full pace, saw her crack open St Marys’ defence and score at try right under the posts. The final two try’s of the game were scored by Flyhalf Zoe Walsh, who on her second try managed to outpace St Mary’s defence down the entire length of the pitch to score a well earned try.

Some good kicking from Natalie Williams saw her convert 3 of the 5 try’s scored by Supermarine.
