Slough Rugby Club
SWS 0 V SWN 24
SWS started well, off the back of an impressive opening win against Thames Valley and took the advantage of a nervous SWN side who were playing their first match of the regional programme. After the initial skirmishes the SWN pack started to take control, winning three consecutive scrums against the head. Although, the SWS pack showed good discipline and technique and won some quality lineout ball. Constant pressure in attack, with good off load in contact and excellent support play gradually wore down the SWS defence and allowed SWN to cross the try line. The loss of the SWN captain (Marlie Packer) to an injury seemed to inspire the team, who finished off a mature team performance.
SWN Scorers:
Trys: Emily Hunter, Nicola Hoole (2), Kelsey Johnstone
Cons: Kelsey Johnstone (2)

Thames Valley 0 V SWN 36
With back to back matches SWN had a slow start against hosts Thames Valley, who showed determined grit in defence. With the match fairly even, SWN produced the best play of the 1st half to score and turn round 5 – 0 up at halftime. As the 2nd half progressed SWN finally managed to release their well disciplined and strong running backs, which finally broke the spirited Thames Valley defence. This seemed to spur on the SWN pack who started to supply quality ball through excellent rucking and mauling. After the match SWN Head Coach Matt Donovan said, “I was very pleased with todays performance, I asked for 100% and every single squad member gave me at least 110%, what a great start”.
