England Women Students are back in action on Easter Sunday with a tough clash against Sweden’s national side at RAF Halton, Aylesbury, kick-off 2pm.
George Roberts from the University of Bath will lead the side who will be looking to bounce back from their 13-0 defeat to Holland in February. The students have also played Wales Development this season, picking up a 47-5 win.
“This will be an excellent test for our students who are hoping to recover from their last defeat against Holland,” said England Women Academy coach Gary Street. “Although Sweden are a slightly unknown quantity, they have some excellent players who have come from their Sevens system and they have had some decent results against some good nations, most noticeably Scotland.
“We feel our players have learnt a lot from the Holland game and we are confident that we will deliver a strong performance. It is an exciting time for women's rugby with the development of rugby in nations such as Sweden and we hope both sides can rise to the occasion and show the strides that our game is making.”
