South West North vs West Midlands Match Report for 9th April 2006

South West North 10          West Midlands 5

The game kicked off to an immense start with great enthusiasm from SWN, which resulted in a well-deserved try by Sarah Bebbington in the early stages of the game. Some good running by Olivia Johnson and linking with Kate Alder kept the oppositions opportunities of equalling at bay.  An attacking move by W.Midlands was superbly intercepted by Jasmine Norman resulting in SWN second try. Fullback Susannah Hudson demonstrated excellent skills securing a high kick to advance SWN forward into W. Midlands territory. The first half was dominated by SWN from strong forward work and good support from the backs.

The second half of the game started with good work in the rucks and mauls with great support by scrum half Charlotte Keane and good communication by Janine Mullan. Great driving by Rosie Morse and Emma Small saw SWN pressurize W.Midlands deep into there half. Alica Ryan-Lowes and Jessica Gittings also showed good tackling and defensive work. The W.Midlands rallied together, which resulted in a well deserved, try by Hannah Arundel.

The game ended with a SWN win, with many congratulations to player of the match Marika Lester, for her great defensive and attacking in the game. WELL DONE GIRLS GREAT TEAM EFFORT.
