Blaydon Women’s Rugby Football Club

Blaydon WRC are holding a second girls only rugby day at their Swalwell ground on Thursday 20^th April. The day will start at 10am and will go through to about 3pm, with a lunch break and is open to any girl, whether they have any experience of rugby or not.

The first rugby day held in February and was a great success, 26 girls between the ages of 11 – 15 turned up and many were able to get an introduction to rugby, including contact skills for the first time.

The second day will include TAG games, training in various rugby skills and an introduction to contact. The day is part of the clubs development which has the target of setting up both under 14 and under 17 girl’s sides for the start of next season.

The club will continue to develop both the senior and junior teams throughout the summer.
