Wimborne Under 17s girls were Plate finalists in this years’ Rugby Football Union for Women National Sevens competition held at Harpenden RFC last month.

This was their last appearance in a season that has seen them win all but two of their 15 aside games and finish as semi-finalists in the National 10’s last month.  Coaches Phil Todd and Calvin Brady have successfully integrated several new girls in the squad this season which has developed a tremendous team-spirit.

Gwyn Jones of Wimborne RFC said: “Scottish and Southern Energy’s sponsorship of women’s rugby is a great example of corporate support for this rapidly growing sector of rugby. We would like to extend our thanks to them as their donation of training tops is gratefully received.”
