The Rugby Football Union for Women has teamed up with England Rugby Travel, the official travel company for the Rugby Football Union, for the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Edmonton, Canada, in September 2006.
England Rugby Travel is organising supporter travel packages to the global event that kicks off on 31 August, with the final being held on the 17th of September.
England, ranked second for the tournament, will be hoping to be involved in the final for a second World Cup running. In 2002 they finished as runners-up to New Zealand’s Black Ferns.
The reigning Six Nations champions have a challenging pool with their World Cup campaign kicking off with a tough clash against the powerful US Eagles on the 31st August at Ellerslie Rugby Park, Edmonton. Geoff Richards’ side will then face South Africa and France before the knock-out stages commence.
Rosie Williams, Managing Director of the RFUW, said: “The RFUW is delighted to have teamed up with England Rugby Travel to provide our supporters with the best travel packages available for the 2006 Rugby World Cup. As we go for glory in Canada, we hope that as many of our supporters as possible travel to Edmonton to lend their support to the team for the most important tournament in women’s rugby.”
