U14 and U17 Active Clubs Database

Early in the 2004-2005 season particular difficulties were recognised in parts of the country in efficiently arranging fixtures for teams in the Youth age bands.

While fixture secretaries received contact details from the RFUW of other affiliated teams, a number of these were not yet ready for fixtures and in some cases not yet even formed at the time of affiliation. The result was that a large amount of time spent by these volunteers in contacting teams on the list often produced little by way of firm playing opportunities.

The RFUW sought to overcome this by enabling the establishment of a database of ACTIVE clubs which would provide fixtures secretaries with visibility of:

§         Clubs with viable playing numbers

§         Clubs seeking smaller sided fixtures

§         Clubs seeking to pool players to provide viable numbers (and to enable entry into cup competitions and tournaments where appropriate)

Clubs would only be included in the database as and when they were ready to participate thereby eliminating many of the fruitless telephone calls by fixture secretaries. By the end of last season 85 teams were involved.

I am looking to update and re-release the Database intended to identify U14 and U17 teams currently looking for fixtures - i.e. with viable numbers OR seeking cooperation with neighbouring clubs to achieve this.

If your U14 or U17 team is expecting to be in this position for season 2006-07 you are invited to submit the information requested below. When the database has been updated you will receive a copy of the database with further updates as and when appropriate.

The contact details will only be circulated within the RFUW and to other team contacts within the database. In the event that commercial organisations seek access to the database, information from them will be circulated to you where it appears likely to be useful/of interest. Your details will NOT be provided to them.
