Girls over the age of 11 and women in the South West are invited to attend a rugby taster session at Exeter Saracens RFC on Sunday October 22nd, between 2 and 4 pm. Rugby Football Union qualified coaches and players from Exeter Chiefs will be on hand to introduce the game to any girls and women that might want to have a go at one of the fastest growing sports in the country. Participants will be taught the basics of the game, including how to pass, tackle, ruck, maul, scrum down and how these all fit together to make rugby the great game it is.
Dave Turner from Exeter Saracens RFC said: “Rugby is a high profile sport in the Exeter area. This is especially the case following the Chiefs move to their new stadium at Sandy Park and England Women’s fantastic achievements in reaching the final of the recent Rugby World Cup in Canada. The girls’ game is certainly going from strength to strength across the country but there is always room for new recruits.”
