Droitwich RFC will host a game between Worcester Ladies 2nds and Malvern Angels on November 11th in memory of Mark Edwards, a superb women’s rugby coach. On October 31st it will be a year since the women’s rugby world learned of the sudden and tragic loss of one of its best and most dedicated coaches at the age of just 42. Mark made a particular contribution to the girls’ and women’s rugby and the number of girls now playing at every level, from grassroots to the England elite squad, is an eloquent tribute to what he achieved.
Mark played his last game at Droitwich RFC shortly before his death and the Droitwich club has kindly agreed to host the game which will be contested by players who largely owe much to Mark’s dedication and guidance.
Everyone is welcome to attend the game and funds raised on the day will go to the Wooden Spoon charity.
For any players, coached over the years by Mark, interested in taking part in the game please contact Kean Clifford on 07973 701054 or kean.clifford@which.net.
