Introduction To Discipline

Discipline Department

"On the Right Lines"

Introduction

Headed up by His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett the RFU Discipline department comprises of three full-time staff based at Rugby House, Twickenham. The department caters for the discipline of levels 1 – 4 in the game and also hears extraordinary cases refered to them from Constituent Bodies. Hearings take place all over the country in four locations on various dates throughout the year, these dates and venues can be found in the online handbook.

Navigating

All cases that are heard by the RFU Discipline department can be found in this area of the website. Judgments are listed by Offence Type, Season and Club, so however you wish to retrieve the judgment you are looking for, you will certainly find it here. For judgments going back beyond the current season, you will need to access our archive, which you will find on the main Discipline menu.

Judgements

All judgements from cases are made available online within 24 hours of the judgement being received by the department. If you are having a problem finding these, please contact Liam McTiernan directly via email.

Panel Constitution

All panel Chairmen at Constituent Body-level hear cases over the course of a year in playing levels 5 - 10. These members attend the annual discipline conference in order to become accredited RFU discipline Chairmen. Those accredited can be seen by clicking on the link below and finding your relevant constituent body.
