Castleford RUFC junior section kick-started their new venture of a Girls Under 15s squad on Sunday 13 January with an encouraging attendance of 16 girls to their Girls’ Rugby Development Day. 

All the girls enjoyed an excellent lively coaching session by RFU Community Rugby Coach John Dudley at the club’s Willowbridge Lane home while an intriguing and well fought match between Leos Girls Under 18s and Worcester Girls Under 18s provided a fitting end to the day and was an excellent advertisement for girls’ rugby.

To capitalise on this success the club will be running training sessions for Years 8, 9 and 10 girls for their Under 15 girls’ squad every Wednesday training night from 6.15pm from now on until the end of the season.
