The Rugby Football Union for Women is pleased to announce that £7,500 of Club Development Toolkit Funding is available now to RFUW affiliated clubs.
Clubs are asked to apply directly through a bidding process to receive the funding and this is a one-off opportunity.
Rosie Williams, RFUW Managing Director, said: “We are really pleased that through good budgeting we have been able to offer this investment to our clubs. We are keen to help our clubs become more sustainable long term, and this is a good way of helping clubs achieve that.”
There are eight pots of £500 and 14 pots of £250 available, but any club wishing to apply for the Club Development Toolkit Funding must be affiliated to the RFUW, have in place, or is working towards, a Club Development Plan that includes an Action Plan for the women and/or girls section and must be attending a Women & Girls Forum in their area.
Applications should comprise of a project, event or resources which aims to recruit and/or retain players and/or volunteers and therefore improve the sustainability of the club. Examples could include development of coaches and volunteers (welfare training, First Aid courses, etc), purchase of new equipment to further develop and enhance current training opportunities, contribution towards coaching expenses for delivery hours in a local school/Further Education and Higher Education institutions to create and sustain club/school links or marketing and advertising the club in the local community.
