Hats off to Slough RFC

Slough Rugby Club pulled out all the stops on Sunday 16th March to enable two Regional matches to go ahead. The Thames Valley U18s and U15s were hosting the East Midlands at Oxford RFC, but the game had to be re-located due to flooding at Oxford’s grounds.

The RFUW, volunteers and players involved in the Regional Programme would like to thank Slough Rugby Club’s volunteers for their hospitality at such short notice. The club has been the main home for the Thames Valley this season, accommodating training sessions and matches for Seniors and the Youth teams.

Clare Cooper, Women’s Rugby Development Manager, said “This to me highlights the spirit of the game; Slough RFC opened their doors to us at short notice and made both squads feel welcome. Thank you to Ann and her team for all their efforts, which included feeding four hungry girls teams and their volunteers!”
