National Under 17 semi-final schedule

April 11, 2008

The delayed regional finals of the National RU Under 17 Championship will go ahead this weekend, with teams from the North and the South West still resolving the semi-final pairings.

Keswick will entertain Darlington Mowden Park on Sunday (April 13), while matches in the South West, hit by bad weather last weekend, will also be played on Sunday.

Bournemouth will entertain Widdon Old Boys in the Cup final and Amersham and Chiltern will be at home to Bristol.

The South West Bowl final between Marlow and Wimbourne cannot be played this weekend and has been postponed for a week until April 20. That will result in the winners playing their semi-final against Dorking at a ground to be decided on April 27.

Meanwhile, the semi-final draws have been made, with the pairings as follows:

North/Midlands at Macclesfield RFC, April 20:

12.00pm: Shield Semi-final - Derby v Keswick or Darlington MP; Plate Semi-final – Syston v Wirral.

2.00pm: Bowl Semi-final - Melton Mowbray v Wetherby; Cup Semi-final - Old Coventrians v Tarleton.

London & SE/SW at Henley RFC, April 20:

11.00am: Shield Semi-final – Hertford v Bracknell.

12.45pm: Plate Semi-final – Tunbridge Wells v Amersham and Chiltern or Bristol

2.30pm: Cup Semi-final – Harpenden v Widdon Old Boys or Bournemouth.

Bowl Semi-final – Dorking v Marlow or Wimbourne, April 27. Venue to be confirmed.

The National Finals will be played at Worcester RFC on May 4, 2008.
