Stourbridge Ladies Finnish Season in High Spirits

Captains Comment

Our last match of the season resulted in a 10-0 loss.  Bridgnorth are a well-established team and third in the league we hope to join next season so this was a fantastic result for such an inexperienced side.  Bridgnorth scored their two tries of the match within the first half and dominated play showing their experience with rucking and set moves with their backs.  Stourbridge kept their team spirit and heads high and came out fighting during the second half and held them at bay with some great tackling.  Defensively Bridgnorth were very tight and the opportunities for our fast runners to make a break never materialised as in our earlier games.  There were a couple of great runs out on the wing but lack of support and space meant we were pushed into touch.

We have had a fantastic first season having come so far in such as short space of time with a record of being undefeated in 80% of our matches.  With training continuing throughout the summer we will be able to focus and concentrate on key areas for improvement ready for next season.
