The finals of the National RU Under 17 Championship at Sixwys, Worcester on Sunday produced another excellent day’s rugby, with the competition keen throughout, but the true spirit of rugby observed by all the teams taking part.

The Shield final between Derby and Bracknell produced the closest encounter, with the sides finishing on level terms at 14-14 and Derby getting the trophy by virtue of scoring two tries to one.

Shield: Derby 14 Bracknell 14 - Derby won tries scored (Derby scored 2 tries & 2 conversions, Bracknell scored 1 try and 3 penalties).

Bowl: Melton Mowbray 22 Marlow 5.

Plate: Bristol 29 Syston 13.

Cup: Harpenden 21 Tarleton 8.
