Three out of three for women

England's women rugby team dominated their third Six Nations match of the 2003 Championship with a 74-0 win over Spain at The Stoop.

Following wins against France and Wales, England are top of the Six Nations table, with games against Scotland and Ireland left to play.

Even playing without injured captain Maxine Edwards, England surged to an early lead through tries from Nicki Jupp and Sue Day and conversions by fly half Shelley Rae.

Jupp, Day, Nicky Crawford and Chris Diver all scored two tries each and Rae was the day's top scorer, kicking six conversions from 11 attempts.

Claire Frost captained the side in the absence of Edwards and England awarded a new cap to Helen Flippance.

Edwards said: "It was another fantastic win for the team and I’m looking forward to being back to full fitness for the game against Scotland, where a win will cement our position at the top of the table.”

Head Coach Geoff Richards said: “It was another terrific win for England today. Full credit must go to the Spanish team for their performance with a very new and inexperienced team. It was a great achievement for Nicola Ponsford to gain her 50th cap today.”

“Both myself and the whole team are very much looking forward to the next home game against Scotland and the return of Maxine Edwards as Captain from injury.”

England's next Six Nations game is against Scotland at The Stoop on Saturday, March 22. (1pm). You can book tickets at www.seatbooker.net/quins or call 0871 871 8877.

Tries: Jupp 2, Day 2, Crawford 2, Diver 2, Yapp, Appleby, Whitehead, Marsh. Conversions: Rae 6, Andrew.
