Object of Rugby

The Object of the Game is that two teams, observing fair play, according to the Laws and in a sporting spirit, should, by carrying, passing, kicking and grounding the ball score as many points as possible with the team scoring the greater number of points being the winner of the match.

Rugby is played worldwide in over 120 countries by men, women, boys and girls of all ages.

The wide variation of skills and physical requiremetns needed for the game mean that there is an opportunity for individuals of every shape, size and ability to participate.

Because there are different variations of the game - 15-a-side, 10-a-side, 7-a-side, Tag rugby (non-contact), Touch rugby (non-contact) - there is a game to suit everyone.
