RFUW Announce 2003 / 04 National Sevens Venue
The RFUW are pleased to announce the National Sevens Tournament will be hosted in conjunction with Northumbria University and held Bullocks Stead Rugby Club Nr Newcastle in Northumberland.
After the success of the last National Sevens the Board have decide that the RFUW will continue to run the event in conjunction with the host venue.
Sue Eakers Chairman of the RFUW said “we are really happy to be taking the event up North this season and we hope that by giving clubs a long lead time they will have adequate time to get organised and raise funds for the Tour. “
Ian Elvin, Director of University Sport, was delighted with the news that Northumbria University will host the 2004 RFUW National Sevens Tournament. He said, “ the University is determined to support the development of women's rugby and to put on a number of prestige events each year such as this.
The National Seven's comes at a time when our own women's rugby and that of the Angels of the North Rugby Club welcomes the profile we will be able to provide the women's game. All players who come to the tournament will have a great weekend and a good competition.”
