RFUW under 18 Pre- Christmas Development Programme 2003

The RFUW are please to announce the Under 18 Pre Christmas Development Program.

The program targets the development of the Under 18 age group players in particular in an effort to support the growth of the game at this level.

The programme venues are geographically based to enable players to access the most appropriate venue, regardless of their club location and region. The syllabus to be delivered has been developed by the RFUW high performance coaches and concentrates on core skill development and will be delivered by quality coaches.

The purpose of the development days is to:

• Offer a chance for Under 18 players to train with their peers in a fun and friendly environment
• Provide opportunities to improve their skill level through the provision of quality coaching and an element of competition.
• Improve players all round core skills
• Assist clubs to develop under 18 teams
• Offer a safe environment for competition at Festivals venues
• Provide training opportunities which promote the game for U18's and increase playing numbers.

The RFUW through this program will be encouraging the development of under 18 teams at clubs to support the growth in the game at this age level. To assist in attracting players to these days the RFUW have made it mandatory that no under 18 player be available for duty at senior team level on these dates.

WHEN

These are the only dates this season where under 18 players must be excluded from senior rugby.

• October 12^th
• November 2^nd
• December 7^th (triangular festival)

These dates have been altered from the original dates to take into account the cup round.
