Clarification on the Playing of Women’s Senior County Matches
The RFUW has become aware of a number of senior county matches being played in the coming weeks and wishes to clarify its stance on this matter.
The RFUW sees County Rugby as an important part of the development streams for youth rugby at the under 16 and under18 age bands. Therefore insurance has been provided for County Youth Teams and will be covered by the agreement between the RFUW and the Wavell Wakefield Trust. The County Representative or team manager must ensure that the correct paper work has been returned to Marsh before playing any games.
The RFUW will not however be supporting the playing of Senior County rugby, as it currently does not fit with the long term development programme. With limited resources the priority for the RFUW will be the provision of a successful Regional Programme for seniors as the next representative level up from Club.
Therefore insurance for Senior County matches if played is the responsibility of the players or management and must be purchased through Marsh insurance. |
