Edwards fit to lead England against France

England Women's head coach Geoff Richards has today announced his team to face France in the Six Nations Championships decider match at Bourg-en-Bresse on Saturday 27th March.

England currently lead the women's Six Nations table but only on points difference to France who, like the English, have not lost a game in this year's Championships.

Maxine Edwards returns to the team as captain after passing a last minute fitness test. She will look to lead England to victory and retain the Six Nations Championship.

Richards commented: “We are really fired up for this game. Some of our key players were rested against Wales, but I’ve put the strongest line up that we had available together to play France. It was great news for us that Maxine Edwards passed her fitness test. Her experience is invaluable in a match such as this where we will need to be totally focussed to get the result we want.”
