England’s Women’s Rugby European Head Coach Danny Wilson, has today announced his squad to go to the 2004 European Championships in Toulouse, France.
On the squads’ selection, Wilson commented: “this team brings together experienced international players such as Shelley Rae, Susie Appleby and Sue Day, with new emerging talent in the form of Maggie Alphonsie, Rochelle Clark and Catherine Spencer. We are confident that this team has what it takes to win the tournament as well as providing up and coming players with the vital experience they gain from playing on the international stage”
England’s group will contain Scotland, France, Wales, Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Italy, who they will play first on Sunday 2nd May in Beaumont de Lomagne, kick off at 16.30 CET.
If England beat Italy they will face the winners of Wales vs. Ireland in the next round at Villefranche de Lauragais on the 5th May at 6pm CET. The final is to be played on Saturday 8th May at Stade des Minimes in Toulouse, kick off 17.30 CET.
