London and South East Planning Meetings

The RFUW and RFU have been working in partnership to write regional development plans for women and girls rugby.  This is aimed at ensuring that rugby in the region develops as a whole and provides you with the best service possible.  The two regions of London and the South East, to which the RFUW moved in order to fit in with Sport England regions have particular difficulties in terms of geography, numbers and delivery for rugby.  Part of the planning process for the Regional Development Plans will therefore be to look at bringing both regions together over three meetings to seek the best administrative and delivery structure for rugby whilst still allowing the RFUW and RFU to access much needed regional funds.

To ensure that the development plan for the region meets your needs, we would like to invite you, and a representative from your club to attend one of a series of planning meetings with us on the following dates;

·         Monday 5th July 2004 at Alton RUFC

·         Wednesday 7th July 2004 at High Wycombe RFC

·         Monday 12th July 2004 at Westcombe Park RUFC

The meetings will all begin at 7pm prompt, but food and refreshments will be available at the clubs from 6.30pm.  This will be an opportunity for an informal chat with representatives of the RFU and RFUW and for you to be involved in the planning process and feed into the targets to be set.

If you have any queries regarding these meetings or the strategy, please contact Kathryn Essex on kathrynessex@rfu.com or 0208 831 7996.  Please can you also confirm your attendance via e-mail to the address above and directions will be sent out. We look forward to seeing you at the meetings and to moving rugby development forward in the region.
