Fitness advice for PDA players

Fitness advice for PDA players

The Performance Development Academies (PDA’s) offer you as players the opportunity to develop your skills, learn new skills and improve your understanding of Rugby Union.

The PDA’s also form a integral part of the RFUW talent identification programme – giving all female players who are eligible to play for England the chance to progress and achieve the goal of playing for their country.

All players aspiring to play for England (on all levels) need to maintain and continually improve their overall fitness levels – especially those who are aiming to make Super 4 trials and U19 trials in early September as well as England student trials in October.

It is important that you as players, give yourself every opportunity to progress and develop and by improving your fitness and physical condition, you can significantly improve your chances of progressing and moreover, catch the eye of selectors if you put the extra work and training in.

The information provided is not meant to tell you exactly what you should be doing, but provide you with a guide and information on areas you should consider. There are also links and references to books for further reading.
