Ever thought you had some good ideas on how RFUW competitions could improve ?? Well now is your opportunity to get involved and be part of the decision making process.
Two seasons ago the RFUW revised the competitions structure which included a number of variations on the laws for the lower leagues, the ability to play games with fewer players etc. A review process was also planned for two years after the changes in order to look at the effects of the changes and to gather new information on strengths, weaknesses and issues within the women’s game with a view to further enhancements and improvements.
The RFUW are now putting together a Competitions Review Group (CRG) to carry out this task. Similar to the Youth Review Group which has worked extremely well in garnering opinion and representation from all areas of the game, the CRG is now looking to recruit interested people with knowledge and experience of the women’s game to contribute to the outcomes. As with the YRG there will be a central working group who will meet regularly to advance the objectives of the CRG, together with a wider consultative group who will receive minutes and have the opportunity to comment on any proposals.
The Terms of Reference for the group can be viewed by clicking on the following link Terms of reference it is anticipated that the CRG will meet 5/6 times over the year in the Midlands or London. Travel expenses will be paid for all members of the group and it is expected to report to RFUW Board and then to the RFUW membership by April 2006.
If you are interested in being a part of the CRG apply in writing to the RFUW giving a brief rugby/sports CV and explaining why you wish to be involved and what you think you can bring to the Group. Applications need to be received by the RFUW office by 4th March 2005.
