The first round of the 2005 senior regional programme matches were played on Sunday 27^th February. The RFUW is delighted to have all 9 regions with a senior representative team participating in the new, revamped, senior regional programme. The results of the these matches and the matches to be played on Sunday 20^th March, will determine which 2 regions participate in the Regional Final in May.

In the London & South East derby match at Henley RFC, tries from Vikki Hudspeth and Vicky Dibden saw the South defeat the North, 10 – 0.

West Midlands defeated the South West at Hartpury College, 22-0

In another close run match the East Midlands saw off the East 12-10 at Loughborough RFC.

Due to the number of teams participating in the Senior Regional competition, the North East, Yorkshire and the North West participated in a triangular match at Northern RFC. North East beat the North West, 10 – 0, Yorkshire then beat the North East 7-0. The final match between Yorkshire and the North West was scoreless.
